A collaborative network of Internal Medicine Residency Programs with post graduate year 3 chief residents.
Welcome and thank you for your interest in our online Internal Medicine PGY-3 Chief Resident (CR) community! This is a grassroots organization that started with the goal of creating an online community for Internal Medicine PGY3 Chief Residents (CRs) and the faculty leaders of the programs who employ them. We hope this community will serve as a platform for communication between CRs & their programs to share resources, discuss their CR experience, and serve as a tool for collaboration. We will also be using this application to create a database of Internal Medicine Residency Programs with PGY3 CRs for future research. By registering with our database, you will help us answer some critical questions about the elusive and understudied role of the PGY3 CR, which has been gaining in popularity among US based IM residency programs over the past decade (estimated 36.5% of all IM programs in the country). In the future, we may contact you to request participation in survey studies. These will be infrequent and completely voluntary. Completion of surveys is encouraged but certainly not required to be part of this community.
After you have registered as an individual user and approved by the administrators, we will provide you with a list of other IM programs with PGY3 CRs, regionality (city, state), and # of PGY3 CRs per program. Other users (either PGY3 CR, faculty, or GME administrators) may request to contact you through the application, but we will not share your contact information without permission. You will also be able to see other users and their program affiliation. This part of the web application is currently under development with plans to "go live" this fall.
This is a work in progress, and we appreciate your patience as we troubleshoot any problems that might arise. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, feedback, or suggestions for improved functionality. If you would like to utilize our database for your own research, please contact us and let us know how we can be of assistance. We highly encourage participation, collaboration, and use of this platform for personal and professional development. We kindly request citation for any curricular development, research, and publications if utilized for that purpose. Please click "Cite Me" at the bottom of our web page.
Welcome and thanks again for visiting our site!
If you have already registered for the database, you should receive an email in the near future.Much love, excitement, and appreciation from your administrators.
